Anticipated Reads for 2021

So as 2020 is in its dying hours (thank god) I have been thinking about the books I am most looking forward to that are due to be published next year! I have been very lucky to have already read 2 of these books and have a few others as earc's on my Kindle waiting for me to read them but some I cannot wait to get my hands on once they are available!

First off, 2 I have already actually read! They're not really antiquated reads now but I am looking forward to getting finished copies to add to my collection!

The Mask Falling is the fourth book in the best selling series, The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon. I read this book at the start of December and I have to say it completely and utterly tore my heart from my chest and stomped it into the dirt for good measure. Insane. If you haven't caught up with this series yet, you have until 26th January to get on it and get ready to have every single emotion toyed with!
Skin Taker is the eighth book in Michelle Paver's incredible Wolf Brother series. A danger unlike any the Forest has ever faced. Demons roam the frozen land. Torak, Renn and Wolf must do all they can to save their people once again. An exhilarating read with a cover that is so stunning! I cannot wait to get the hardback when it is published on 1st April - the covers always look so much better on the actual book, the texture of the paper they use for it, the colours seem darker. I can't wait!

Now onto the books that I haven't read yet!

If you have followed my blog or follow me on Twitter or Instagram for any amount of time then it'll be no surprise that this is on the list as I am 110% unapologetically Trash for Maas. A Court of Silver Flames is our first journey back to the world of Prythian and A Court of Thorns and Roses. It's been 2 years since our last look into the lives of our favourite characters in a novella titled A Court of Frost and Starlight, which while nice, as around 200 pages just didn't hit the same as the gargantuan tomes we are used to. I have to be honest I hate the cover with every fibre of my being but I know the insides will more than make up for it when it comes through the letterbox (or not...) on 16th February.

Another book I am very excited for which is due in February is The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna. Originally meant to be published last summer and pushed back thanks to the pandemic, this book features girls who bleed gold, warriors and so much more. The cover, as you can see, is STUNNING! I cannot wait to get my hands on it at last!

Next, Witches Steeped In Gold by Ciannon Smart. First of... THAT COVER! Oh my! Enemies. Magic. Revenge. I have a feeling this is going to be one hell of a ride! I'm lucky enough to have an earc and am hoping to read it sooner rather than later, I may even make it my first read of the year, kick things off with a bang!

And lastly on this list for now, Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff. This book sounds absolutely insane. Bloody, violent, dark. I mean there's a bloody blowjob scene according to Jay himself. If that doesn't intrigue you then I don't know what will! I don't read much adult fiction as it doesn't generally grab my attention but sometimes a book like this comes along that I can't wait to read and I for one think September cannot come quick enough!

So that's all for now. There are of course many, many more. If I was to go on I would be here all day. I'm also excited about all the books that I haven't heard about yet that I will no doubt discover as 2021 progresses and I can't wait to see the different worlds and characters I get to spend time with!

What are your most anticipated reads of 2021? Comment in case its something I've not heard of. Tweet me. DM me. Just shout at me, it generally works! Lets hope 2021 is a great year!
