J.K. Rowling News

Okay, so this probably doesn't qualify as news, but for a JK Rowling fan, like me, this is cause for celebration!

Jo was reading at the White House yesterday for their annual Easter celebrations, and in a Q&A, she said that she has written a few things since she finished the epic Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and that there will be something published in the "not too distant future".

All I can say is please... BRING IT ON! Anyone else excited that the prospect for new JKR reading material is coming around?

  1. Ooooh! I think I'm excited! Adult or YA? Fantasy or not? Hmmm. It will be interesting to read, but could it beat or be on par with the Harry Potter series? Not sure.

  3. I don't know if the new books will be any good. Harry Potter was a very good idea and most writers could've pulled that idea off easily. Books really are more about ideas than the writer. However there is no doubt JK is a good writer but will the idea be as good as harry potter? Somehow I doubt it. Don't get me wrong it'll be a good book but will be in the shadow of the harry potter books. Probobaly the thing that will let it down is the expectations that it'll be as good as harry potter. In my opinion no book will ever be able to match the magnificent harry potter. However this is my opinion so respond and criticise as you wish.

  4. Harry is a tough act to follow. My bet is that JK goes for something entirely different to reduce comparisons as much as possible. But I also think it will be good (whatever it is) because she would need to be 100% confident before people read it.

  5. I remember her saying in the television interview when Half-Blood Prince came out, that whatever she does next it won't be fantasy. She said that she'd done her fantasy - ploughed all her fantasy ideas into Harry.

I'm confident that whatever Jo does, it'll be amazing. She can do no wrong as far as I am concerned! :)
